What to Consider When Considering Stepping Into the New Year
Happy New Year! π
Don’t you love new beginnings? Yes, they can be tricky, but a new beginning is a new chance.

We all have New Year’s resolution, which of course we smudge by the end of January, but it doesn’t have to be that way. This usually happens because we bite much, much more than we can chew, so this is what I propose β be humble. Progress doesn’t come over night, it takes time, it takes effort, it takes consistency. So instead of making a never-ending list, choose three things, three most important things for you right now, and then make a plan. Again β be humble. What we need to do is to build a habit, and to succeed in that, we need to be realistic and not overwhelm ourselves.

For example, if you wish to learn a new language, be real with your schedule and make a goal you can achieve, if it’s five minutes a day, it’s five minutes a day, if that is all the time you can give, than make that your goal. Every minute counts, because that is a minute more than you used to do before (I love it when we rhyme π ). In time that might change, something might shift in your schedule, and you will have more time for learning.
If you wish to change your diet, again β be humble. Don’t stuff your kitchen with the food you don’t like, start slow, maybe remove the junk food from your menu, leave enough for a guilty pleasure now and then, definitely not enough to eat it every day, especially every meal. And then maybe start with a healthy breakfast, and you move on from there. Small steps are important; that’s the way to make it last. We need time to change, remember that.
The same goes when it comes to working out: start slow, a few minutes a day, maybe just stretch, it will make a difference, I promise you, because you will build a habit, you will feel better, and you will want more of that feeling, so in time you will do more for yourself.
And if you slip up, so what? Just pick up where you left off. π

What you need to succeed is a positive attitude, and if that is something, the formula is the same β start small. For example, write three positive thing every day, write them anywhere, you do not need a notebook, if that is a problem, you young generations who refuse to hold a pen. π We all have our phones, all the time (too much time), so open notes or whatever you like, and write three things, you don’t even have to do it at once, do it throughout the day. And they don’t have to be big things, even better if they’re not, because it will teach you to appreciate the small things like having a great hair day, noticing that cute guy smiles at you, breathing fresh air, enjoying the sun on your face, giving a compliment to someoneβ¦ There are SO many beautiful positive things we fail to notice, so let’s turn that around!
New beginnings, cherish them; they bring hope. π
Trust the magic of new beginnings.
