What to Consider When Considering Autumn
I love this season. I love everything about it. The fiery red and the calming yellow in trees, the leaves covering sidewalks, the wind that carries them around, even the rain, and the serenity it brings. It won’t be long before we see the first change in colors.
This is a changing season. Unlike spring, when nature awakens, now it prepares for rest. This is a time of transition, not just for nature, but for us too. Our feelings change, sunny, hazy summer is over, and the craziness it brings is now replaced with the rain that brings the peace we need to renew our energy.
It brings freshness after those hot months and new beginnings for everyone.
Kids go back to school, adults return from their vacations, and we’re all starting a new season.

Autumn can be an emotionally complex period for some; it seems as if our feelings change with the colors of the leaves. There is a feeling of melancholy in the air as everything is winding down.
But there is also a need for coziness, we look for comfort in a cup of tea or a warm cocoa, in a good book or a favorite tv show. We take out our blankets and light scented candles. Autum urges us to slow down and find pleasure in simple things, which is something we aim to do with this blog. Maybe that is part of the reason I enjoy autumn so much, I love taking it slow, noticing the small things, and enjoying the comfort of my home.

Autum is also a great time for family gatherings and friendly board games in the comfort of our homes, making homecooked meals and snacks, enjoying the company. But not only staying at home, this is a great time for fieldtrips, just like the spring is, a great time to work out outside as it is not too hot anymore, a great time to take your book to the park, or simply enjoy nature and de-stress.
And when outside, oh how I enjoy the beautiful colors on the trees and feeling the leaves under my feet. And my dog probably loves it even more than I do, I love taking her to the woods; she runs through the piles of leaves like crazy (and this is not a young dog), she jumps around sniffing everything. 🙂

Despite the emotional roller coaster it can take us on, autumn really can be a beautiful season if you see it for what it is and learn to enjoy it, if you don’t already.
No more summer distractions and the need to run around chasing fun in the sun, partying the summer night away, now we awaken our creativity, prepare for the autumn holidays, and look at the world through different lenses.
And yes, some of you may be sad the summer is over, but that doesn’t mean you need to spend this beautiful season in mourning, but to explore new experiences, those of a calmer nature. 🙂

I’ve had a wonderful summer. I feel both rested and exhausted. I’m still catching the rays of the sun, which are now somewhat sporadic, and I am soaking it up while tending to my now parting flowers. It is also a time to plant a new garden, a winter garden, time to tend to some different fruits.
I’ve enjoyed the sea, and I’ve enjoyed the sun, but I am now ready to take it easy and to take my music inside.

The rain is coming. I look forward to it. 🙂
Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree
