What to Consider When Considering Pets
One of my favourite (if not the most favourite) things in the world are animals. I believe life without an animal is not a complete life, at least for me. They make everything better. However, taking care of an animal is not to be taken lightly. This is a life you become responsible for the minute you decide to make it a part of your life. It is a big commitment, so even though I would warmly recommend having animals in your life, I advise you to do some serious considering about whether you can provide everything they need.

Having pets is one of the best things in my life. Sometimes, the best. I don’t even consider them pets; they are a part of my family. There was never a part of my life when I didn’t have an animal as a companion, ever since I was a kid. I started with fish (as kids often do), but they quickly became boring to me, I wanted more interaction. And even though I think aquariums are beautiful, soothing, and relaxing, they are simply not for me. So, before you get one, think about what kind of an animal is the right kind for you.

For example, if you like to spend a lot of time outdoors, a dog is a perfect companion, but if you like to have someone mess with your mind, by all means, choose the cat. 😀 All joking aside, cats are fun and interesting to have; I have two. And a dog. Also had a hamster, a bunny, a parakeet… Like I’ve said, really love animals. 🙂

I wrote a quick guide – What to Consider When Considering Pets– and each of you who chooses to subscribe will get this fun and colourful guide to help you decide whether to add a new member to your family.
Do not, I repeat, do not take this decision lightly, you need to prepare yourself for welcoming a new family member, you need to have the time, the money and the space for your pet, but most of all, you need endless love that will make it easier to prioritize them even when it’s difficult because life gets in the way. Sometimes, any kind of responsibility is hard; sometimes, we are just not in the mood, and sometimes, we just want to stay in bed. However, when you have this crazy beautiful creature asking for you, it moves you in every way. 🙂

I cannot begin to describe how much happiness an animal brings. They enrich our lives in so many ways. They will do you so much good, they will take the stress away (read more here), they bring happiness, they show and teach us about love, they occupy our time in the most positive way. Having this connection, this bond in your life makes us appreciate the world around us so much more, reminds us how connected to all the living things we all are, makes us live a better, much more fulfilling life. Both you and the people surrounding you will be happier – your spouse, child, brother, sister, parents, friends – because animals have this crazy positive effect on us.

They often make us feel better than other humans do because with them, there is no judgment, no burdens; they love unconditionally, they are there, they listen, they might not be able to provide an answer, but they understand, they feel with you. This is a strong connection – between an animal and their human. 🙂

Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.

Treat your pet, your family, the best you can because it is exactly what they do for us, and they deserve our best in return. After all, home is where your pet welcomes you. 🙂
