What to Consider When Considering Love

February is the month of love, and since the last time we talked about Valentine’s Day, let’s keep up with that topic, but dive a bit deeper this time.

Love is actually (pun intended 🙂 ) a big topic, too big for our small blog, but let’s visit it anyway. Because love has a place in all our lives, love keeps us going, love makes it all better.

When we hear the word love, most of our minds automatically go to romantic love, and even though romance is beautiful, love comes in so many forms, so many wonderful forms.
We start by loving our parents, our family, and as we get to know the world, we get to know new forms of love, love for nature, love for animals, love for friends. We also learn easier when we learn about something we love, even when that something is math. 🙂 We fall in love with people, with places, with clothes, with someone’s laugh, we fall for adventure, we fall for love itself.

If you look closely, you will find so much love in your daily life; in that cup of coffee in the morning, in the sun that comes after the rain, even in the raindrops on your face. In that new book you can’t put down, in your dog’s eyes, in your child’s growth. Oh, and let us not forget that chocolate that melts in our mouth, that perfume that smells so good, and that chatting session you have with your friend. The beautiful flower that rises to the sun, the water you swim in, you know, the one that hugs your body and makes you lighter than air, and yes, the air, the fresh air that fills your lungs and rejuvenates your spirit. And the song you’ve been listening to your entire life, which makes you happy every single time you hear it. Yes, there is so much love, everywhere.

Love does come with loss, unfortunately, as everything else in life does, but like everything else, that loss is what teaches us to make it appreciate it more. The passing of time, for everyone and everything, is what makes love even more amazing; it teaches us to savour it, enjoy it.

And that romantic love, seeing yourself in your lover’s eyes, creating beautiful moments together, even the difficult ones, they all make you love each other more, grow closer, build together. Build families, build life, in so many forms.
It is a wonderful feeling, loving what we’ve created, people’s appreciation, recognition or simply a silent fulfilment. Love in helping others, your partner, your someone, or a stranger in passing, making somebody’s day with a simple smile or a kind word, love in feeling good.
There is so much love if we only allow ourselves to feel it, to let it consume us because love not only makes us better, it makes the world better, and we are a part of it.

Take your time and look around; you will find love everywhere.
And where we find love, we find happiness. 🙂

All you need is love.
